MS05 - Double Tourbillon

The differential gear double tourbillon is generally powered by a single mainspring output, with a gear system using the differential gear to balance the two tourbillons for time control.

The differential gear refers to a type of gear system mainly found in watches with two or more escapements, such as double balance wheel watches or double tourbillon watches. The key function of the differential gear is to achieve a balance between two different rates. The speeds of the two tourbillons will never become completely identical. The frequency difference between them is extremely small, perhaps only one-tenth of a hertz, nearly immeasurable, but this difference accumulates over time. The faster tourbillon will transfer more energy to the transmission gear system. The differential gear consists of bevel gears connecting two shafts. If the speeds of the two shafts are the same, the differential gear remains idle; if the speeds of the two shafts are different, the differential gear will extract energy from the faster side and transmit it through the gears to the slower side. Throughout the process, the total amount of energy remains constant, but the specific configuration changes.
